Step 1Upload your photo
Upload 1 photo at a time, up to 10 MB, in one of 3 formats: JPG, PNG or WebP. Use a photo you own or have permission to edit.

Auto
Step 2Start with Auto or brush the watermark
Auto is selected by default: try removing watermarks across the whole photo without painting. Switch to Brush watermark for precise control, then paint over the whole mark, edges included, or drag a rectangle across a large one.

Clean Up Common Watermarks with One-Click Auto
Let AI handle watermark cleanup across the photo without drawing a selection first. Start with Auto for common text, logos, date stamps and repeated patterns. It gives you a simple way to tackle marks spread across the image, so you can spend less time selecting each one and prepare a cleaner photo for its next use.

Fine-Tune Watermark Removal Around Delicate Details
Take more control when a watermark crosses hair, clothing or a patterned background. Brush watermark lets you guide the cleanup around the mark and refine the selected area, from small corner labels to wider overlays. Use it for detailed work or to tidy remaining marks after Auto, with a selection that fits the photo.

Fill Watermarked Areas with Natural-Looking Detail
AI uses the surrounding scene as context to generate replacement detail where a watermark interrupts the picture. Colors, textures and nearby shapes guide the fill, while brush mode blends the edited region into your photo with a soft edge. The aim is a cohesive image you can use in an album, listing or creative project.
In image inpainting research, Lu et al. (2022) describe reconstruction as using context information from remaining parts. Covered detail is inferred, so check faces, lettering and repeating textures before downloading. Lu et al., GLaMa — CVPR Workshops 2022

FAQs About AI Image Generator's Watermark Remover
What does the AI Watermark Remover do?
AI Image Generator's watermark remover helps clear visible text, logos, dates and overlays. Upload 1 photo at a time, up to 10 MB, in one of 3 formats: JPG, PNG or WebP. Pick one of 2 modes: Auto or Brush watermark. Auto tries removing marks across the whole image without painting; Brush watermark focuses the cleanup on the area you select. Compare the cleaned photo with the original before downloading or continuing to edit.
Should I brush the watermark or use Auto?
Brush watermark gives you the most control because it focuses the edit on the area you painted. Auto needs no brushing and works on the whole image in one pass, so it can also change other areas. A practical order is to try Auto first, then keep editing the result with the brush for any mark that remains.
Is the cleaned image as sharp and as large as my original?
Brush mode returns a PNG at your photo's dimensions by blending the generated selection into the original. For example, a 1,200 × 800 pixel photo remains 1,200 × 800 pixels in Brush mode. Replacement detail is inferred by AI, so inspect fine textures. Auto uses the model's output dimensions and can return a smaller image than a large upload.
Will other parts of my photo change?
Auto edits the whole image, so details away from the watermark may shift. Brush mode blends the generated selection into the original photo and softens the edge inside that selection. Drag the comparison divider to check the edited region before downloading.
How do I remove tiled, repeated or semi-transparent watermarks?
Start with Auto, which tries to clear tiled, diagonal and semi-transparent marks across the whole image. If traces remain, keep editing the result with Brush watermark: paint over the whole pattern and extend each stroke a little past its edges. A large or dense pattern may need a second pass.
Why does a faint ghost of the watermark remain, and how do I fix it?
A solid or high-contrast watermark can hide the pixels beneath it, so the AI has to infer replacement detail and may leave a faint outline. Brush a slightly wider area around the ghost, including its soft edges, and run the removal again. A second pass may reduce remaining traces; compare the result before downloading.
Can I remove a logo, date stamp or signature?
Yes, logos, dates and signatures are common watermark types you can work on with Auto or Brush watermark. Typical uses include updating your own brand images, clearing a camera date stamp or removing a signature you added. Only edit images and marks you have the right to change; the tool does not grant rights to another brand's or artist's work.
Is it legal to remove someone else's watermark?
Only edit images you own or have permission to change. Watermarks usually identify the copyright holder, and removing one from someone else's work can infringe their rights. This tool does not give you any right to use an image; if you are unsure, ask the owner or license the image.
How many credits does watermark removal use?
A live credit estimate for the configured model appears on the Generate button before you start. Credits are deducted when you submit. You can upload a photo and see the estimate without signing in, but you need to sign in to run the removal.
What happens to the photos I upload?
Your photo travels over encrypted connections. To run the removal, the image is sent to a third-party AI model provider for that task. Uploaded input images are cleared within 24 hours after they are no longer needed for the task, and signed-in results are kept in your history. Read the privacy policy
